Meat-industry associations do not agree with new VAT-laws
Goverment plans about VAT-changes are unacceptable and unfair, according to most associations in the meat industry.
They are convinced that certain products affected by the cut of VAT do not belong to the category of basic food products. Certain dairy products, bakery-items and fruit yoghurts are not basic items in their opinion, whereas on the other hand pariser and sausages belong to this category. Meat-associations are protesting against the reinforcement of these new laws by writing an open letter to the prime minister and the ministries in question.
