The Vatera online marketplace is separated from the eMAG group of companies
eMAG has announced that the Vatera online marketplace will be separated from the company group, and Balázs Várkonyi and Gyula Kelemen, the founders of Extreme Digital, will take over the leadership. The two specialists will manage the company as majority owners of Vatera and coordinate future developments. The transaction is expected to be completed in August 2023. eMAG continues to focus on expansion and growth in Hungary, attracting new customers and Marketplace partners who can take advantage of the improvements in services, technology and infrastructure achieved since the merger with Extreme Digital.
“We would like to thank Balázs and Gyula for their support and partnership in creating a strong e-commerce ecosystem in Hungary, allowing us to offer our customers a wider range of products and better services. I think we are ready to shift into a higher gear and continue our mission: to help our customers shop more efficiently and cheaper with seamless services, and to support local entrepreneurs in the field of online trade”
– said Tudor Manea, CEO of eMAG Group.
“The last few years have been exciting, during which we at eMAG have built a complex ecosystem that can lead many Hungarian SMEs that are now familiar with online commerce to success. By integrating Extreme Digital, which has significant experience in electronic retail, we successfully integrated the eMAG, we have done our job. We will continue to look for similar challenges in the future: we currently see strong growth potential in Vatera, the C2C business model, and we want to create a success story similar to Extreme Digital in the sale and purchase of used goods in a strong online marketplace.”
Balázs Várkonyi commented on the announcement.
