The foreign trade surplus of the euro area has become smaller than expected
In March, a smaller than expected foreign trade surplus occured, but at the same time, it was much higher than in the previous month.
The EU’s statistical office, Eurostat announced on Friday that it had a surplus of 26.9 billion euros from foreign trade of goods in March, compared to the 18.9 billion euros of February.
Analysts expected a somewhat larger surplus of 27.9 billion euros. One year ago, the surplus was 28.5 billion euros. (MTI)
