Retail sales in Germany increased less than expected in February
Retail sales in Germany expanded to a lesser extent than in February, just like in January, which is another indication that this year started weaker in the largest economy of the euro area.
According to the preliminary data of the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), retail turnover, by filtering the price effects, increased by 1.3 percent compared to February last year. Analysts expected a 2.2 percent increase after the 2.3 percent growth in January. (MTI)
