Retail trade in the euro area was lower than expected in May
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the European Union’s Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced on Tuesday that retail sales increased by 1.4 percent in the Euro Zone in an annual comparision, while stagnated on a monthly basis.
Analysts expected a 0.1 percent increase on a monthly basis after the 0.1 percent decline in April. Analysts expected a 1.5 percent increase in annual comparison after the 1.6 percent increase in April. (MTI)
