A statue of the city’s iconic master chef was unveiled in Debrecen
The bust of gold-wreathed master chef László Boros, the work of the Munkácsy Award-winning sculptor Juha Richárd, was inaugurated on Friday in Debrecen, in the park in front of the local commercial and catering technical college and vocational training school.
Mayor László Papp (Fidesz-KDNP) called László Boros, who died in 2020 at the age of 69, an iconic personality of Debrecen. During his work, he enhanced the reputation of local gastronomy at home and abroad.
He recalled that László Boros first entered the kitchen of the Aranybika hostel as a young student in 1965, of which he later – along with several other restaurants in Debrecen – became the chef.
