China’s exports fell slightly more than expected in May
Although to a lesser extent than expected, China’s exports declined in May due to the crippling effects of the new coronavirus epidemic on international trade.
According to data released by the Chinese Customs Service on Sunday, the dollar-denominated value of exports shrank 3.3 percent year-on-year in May. In April, thanks to the recovery in economic activity following the improvement in the domestic pandemic situation, Chinese exports grew again, with a 3.5 percent increase.(MTI)
