One of the big loser of the crisis is the meat industry

According to the datas of Optem Company Information Service by mid-May, winding-up proceedings has been started against 73 animal husbandry, meat trading or meat-processing companies, so meat industry is the other major loser of the crisis beside the cons

According to the informations, the Pegano-Pig of Gerjén is the biggest loser among the meat processors and traders with its 4.8 billion HUF turnover in 2007. Among the dilapidated companies one can find four companies with a turnover of 2 billion HUF in 2007. The failure of the large processing companies and traders is the biggest problem in the sector, because these companies are working with many suppliers, thus directly or indirectly they gave a lot of job for people. According to Antal Gábor President of Slaughter and Meat  Marketing Council not any government program can protect the Hungarian companies against the foreign cheap and poor quality products and the dominant position of the large commercial chains – reports Tőzsdeforum.
