Helping is good, but not always easy

We want to help because empathy for others is deeply encoded in us as humans. Yet we often feel uncertain: is what we are doing enough? Isn’t it too little, isn’t it too late? Sometimes even good intentions can be accompanied by anxiety or a feeling of helplessness. These topics, among others, were discussed at the roundtable discussion that was part of the “Together we succeed” campaign launched as part of the strategic cooperation between Candy Hoover Hungary Kft. and the Ecumenical Aid Organization.

Real help: when we all win

The cooperation between Candy Hoover Hungary Kft. and the Ecumenical Aid Organization is a model example of real help. The company not only donates household items to the institutions operated by the aid organization, but also actively participates in projects, value creation and attitude formation. In 2025, more than ten institutions will have access to modern, reliable household appliances, but the real value lies not in these machines, but in attention and cooperation.

As István Huczka, Managing Director of Candy Hoover Hungary Kft., put it: “For us, social responsibility is a human matter. Just as we serve the convenience of institutions with our products, we also want to set an example in how to make providing assistance a part of everyday life, naturally, sincerely, and based on values. Our strategic cooperation with the Ecumenical Relief Organization was established to achieve this.”

The culture of providing assistance

According to Kristóf Gáncs, Managing Director of the Relief Organization, the true power of cooperation lies in providing real, thoughtful answers to the needs of communities. “Help really starts to work when we think and act together, it is not only the donation that counts, but also the human connection, the shared commitment.”

At the roundtable discussion, which also included Olympic champion swimmer Dániel Gyurta and active volunteer of the Ecumenical Aid Organization, the participants discussed what lies behind providing help. Dániel Gyurta put it this way: “Help for me is about community. It is about the fact that we can all do something for others, and this responsibility is reflected not only in actions, but also in attitude. I believe that attention and cooperation are what truly move us forward.”

The “Together We Succeed” campaign is thus not only a joint action, but an invitation to a new way of thinking: so that providing help should not be a special occasion, but a natural gesture of everyday life.
