The price of a slaughter heifer decreased by 19 percent, and that of a slaughter cow by 24 percent
In the United States, the price of the bull was 6.43 dollars (USD)/kilogram of split cold weight in June 2023, 31 percent higher than a year earlier. In Brazil, the price of cattle in Brazilian real terms fell by nearly 14 percent in July 2023 compared to the average price of the same month of the previous year.
In the European Union, the slaughterhouse entrance price of the young bull “R3” commercial class was 4.78 euros/kilogram cold carcass weight in July 2023, a decrease of 2.7 percent compared to a year earlier. The price of the cow “O3” decreased by 9 percent, while the price of the heifer “R3” did not change during the examined period. According to the AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of young bulls was HUF 872/kilogram of split hot weight in July 2023, which represents a 12 percent increase compared to the average price of the same month in 2022. The price of the slaughter heifer decreased by 19 percent and the price of the slaughter cow by 24 percent during the examined period.
