The live weight producer price of broiler chicken is still higher than the 2022 data
According to AKI PÁIR data, the live weight producer price of slaughter chickens in Hungary rose by 28.7 percent to HUF 504.71/kilogram, and that of slaughter turkeys by 34.2 percent to HUF 697.58/kilogram in the first thirty-two weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

According to data from the European Commission, the EU average price of whole chicken in the first thirty-two weeks of 2023 was 265.74 euros/100 kilograms, which represents a 7 percent increase compared to the previous year. The price in Hungary rose by 26.7 percent to HUF 973/kilogram in the same comparison. According to AKI PÁIR data, the processing sales price of chicken breast fillets increased by 12.4 percent to HUF 1,973/kilogram, bone-in chicken breast by 5.9 percent to HUF 1,364/kilogram, the price of chicken breast (in total) by 12.6 percent to HUF 1,947/kilogram, and chicken thighs by 13 increased by 4 percent to HUF 915/kilogram in the first thirty-two weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
