The actors of tourism are requesting the restoration of the original purpose of the SZÉP card

At the national forum of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK), tourism businesses evaluated this season, based on their unanimous opinion, tourism needs the SZÉP card, according to its original concept, the chamber told MTI on Friday.

According to the announcement, at the end of the tourism season, representatives of the profession – chamber specialists and tourism enterprises, as well as professional organizations – shared this year’s experiences and good practices with each other and formulated proposals that could contribute to the revitalization of domestic tourism.

It was highlighted: there are regions from which SZÉP card guests have almost completely disappeared from tourism, which means a huge loss for businesses. That is why they recommend that the government restore the framework for the use of the SZÉP card to its original purpose as of January 1, 2024.
