They hope for a boost in tourism from the designation as a tourist zone of national importance in Nagybánya
They hope for a boost in tourism and the development of tourist services from the designation of a tourist zone of national importance in Nagybány in Transylvania, municipal representative Zsolt Pintér told MTI on Monday.
At Friday’s government meeting, the seat of Máramaros county was declared a tourist zone of national importance by the Romanian government, which also decided to declare eight Transylvanian settlements as resorts of local importance.
Zsolt Pintér, Nagybánya local government representative and Máramaros county president of the Hungarian Democratic Union in Romania (RMDSZ), told MTI that a long-awaited decision has been made, even if it does not solve tourism-related problems overnight. “This is already a framework, from here you can work in this area,” he said.
