Tourism can grow by 260 billion HUF in the current budget cycle
In the Széchenyi 2020 program, the government spends more than 260 billion HUF on developing tourism in the 2014-2020 budget period, out of which nearly 33 billion HUF will be spend on the Lake Balaton – Schanda Tamás, Minister of State of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology said on Saturday in Fonyód.
At the press conference held at the launch point of the Balaton Transfer, the Minister of State stressed that Hungary has unparalleled natural and cultural treasures; Tourism is a strategic sector, and the goal is that by 2030 the total contribution of Hungarian tourism to GDP will increase from the current 10 percent to 16 percent. The goal of the government is that by 2030 Hungary should become the leading tourist area in Central Europe – he reminded. (MTI)
