The spa association calls for the expansion of the tourism action plan
The Hungarian Bath Association calls for the expansion of the tourism action plan; the members of the association want, among other things, VAT reductions, wage subsidies and utility subsidies, stressing that the safe operation of the spas is not only in the interest of the employees and the municipalities that own the majority of them, but also in the interest of the national economy – the spa association told MTI on Thursday.

Baths cannot withstand the rise in energy prices
They wrote: spas cannot manage the eight- to fifteen-fold increase in energy prices, which is why they recommend a 27 percent VAT reduction for spa services, a wage subsidy based on the period during the Covid period, and the creation of a fund to compensate for the increase in energy costs.
They highlight: the announcement of the tourism action plan was welcomed, the measures were welcomed and called forward-looking as a first step to help the tourism sector. They emphasized that spas are the strongest engine of the tourism industry, as more than 71 percent of guest nights in Hungary are spent in settlements that have a spa that is relevant from a tourist point of view.
