Oversupply reduces milk prices
In Hungary, the average producers price of raw milk was 87.57 HUF per kilo in April 2012, which is a 4 percent decrease compared to March – announced the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI).
In the European Union, the acquisition of raw milk increased by 4 percent in the first two months of 2012, compared with a year earlier. As the result of oversupply the raw milk prices began to decline. In Italy, the raw milk’s spot price declined to the 2010 level in May.
Due to the decline in raw milk exports, oversupply emerged on the domestic dairy market, which affects the price of raw milk and also the producer and processor selling prices.
