The price of eggs at the packing point is 59 percent higher than a year ago
Based on data from the European Commission, the packing point price of table eggs in the EU was 241.92 euros/100 kilograms in the first thirty-four weeks of 2023, exceeding the price of the same period of the previous year by 39.9 percent.

According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, the packing point price of table eggs (M+L) from cage keeping in Hungary was HUF 59.86/piece in the first thirty-four weeks of 2023, which was 59.1 percent higher than the average price for the same period of 2022. Within this, the packing point price of boxed eggs of size class M increased by 59.9 percent to HUF 62.33/piece, and that of boxed eggs of size class L by 61.4 percent to HUF 72.06/piece. At the same time, the packing point price of M tray eggs rose by 60.1 percent to HUF 55.58/piece, and that of L tray eggs by 57.1 percent to HUF 59.94/piece. The packing point price of deep-laid table eggs (M+L) was HUF 67.25/piece in the first thirty-four weeks of 2023, which was 62 percent higher than the average price for the same period of 2022.
