Tesco exports a substantial amount of Hungarian melon
Tesco has launched this year's melon-tasting action in its Tesco Extra store in Váci Road. The company in cooperation with the Rural Development Ministry and the Hungarian Association of Hungarian Melon Farmers is intended to strengthen the market position of Hungarian melon. The company plans to sell more than nine million kilograms of melons thus contributing to the success of the industry.
As the committed partner of the domestic producers, Tesco remains open to the sales challenges of the Hungarian agriculture. Therefore, Tesco this year will continue the promotion of melon and watermelon during the domestic melon season, offering solely Hungarian watermelons in its stores.
