Tesco is the most popular in Hungary
Toplist's first is the british Tesco with annual revenue HUF 544 billion, on the second place is the CBA, on the third the Metspa – the Metro, Interspar and Kaisers supply center.
According the research by AC Nielsen there are year to year
more hypermarkets, their number doubled last 5 years, in December 2006 there
were 109. There were 464 discount shops in Hungary, it is 7 % more than last
year, the 374 existing supermarkets is 6% growth. At the same time 1200 tiny shops
closed. Two types of food retails have increment in market share, the discounts
from 16- to 18% and the hungarian chains, from 29 to 30.
