One third less fruit harvested this year
According to data from the Interprofessional Organisation for Fruit and Vegetable (FruitVeB), this year’s fruit yield was about 30 percent lower than in 2014. Last year 1.3 million tons of fruit was picked but this year is expected to bring an 850,000-900,000 ton fruit harvest.
