The order of nature!

“In the Hungarian hospitality sector we see a strong push for a more serious green shift, especially from high-end establishments. It seems clear that the target group of these places is sophisticated guests who are environmentally conscious in their own lives”,
says Piroska Solymosi, hygiene consultant of Assist-Trend.
In the street-food business they also see demand for green solutions. Assist-Trend can offer environmentally friendly solutions in three areas: paper products, cleaning products and utensils. The cleaning product range is of particular interest to restaurants, due to its compliance with HACCP regulations. The company has a wide range of Ecolabel certified degreasers, disinfectants, descalers and grill cleaners, all made from natural ingredients.
Márk Varga, managing director of Hagleitner Hygiene Magyarország Kft.:
“In the hospitality sector most businesses pay attention to operate sustainably. At Hagleitner we have been focusing on providing partners with sustainable solutions for about 15 years. We believe a product will only be truly ECO if the manufacturing processes, the raw materials used and the services offered all point in this direction – this is the way we do things”.
Piroska Solymosi adds that there is a noticeable increase in demand in HoReCa, but the big volume isn’t yet coming from organic products. FSC certified napkins are now almost a minimum requirement, and there is growing interest in algae, bamboo and corn-based paper products.
Assist-Trend Kft. is part of Piszke Group, which is constantly developing new paper products. The company has observed the strengthening of the green trend at other suppliers too, both in the use of raw materials and in packaging. In its green cleaning product line not only the content is environmentally friendly but also the packaging, which is made from recycled materials and can be recycled. Márk Varga explains that whether we are talking about dishwasher detergents or hotel room cleaning, Hagleitner can offer partners an environmentally friendly solution in every category. Their aim is not to transport water from A to B, so the cleaning products always arrive at the customer’s premises in concentrate form, and the company produces the finished cleaning product on site, using the dosing system installed at the given partner. //
Sustainable hotels
The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) reached a milestone: in August 5,000+ hotels in more than 80 countries adopted the Hotel Sustainability Basics programme. This programme aims to help hotel owners take the first steps towards increased sustainability. The independent certification program features the best auditors from Green Key and SGS, monitoring credibility and ensuring that the rigorous standards are met. The 12-step criteria system seeks to streamline carbon emissions, energy, water and waste management and to ensure that local communities benefit from hotel operations. //
