FruitVeB: 150-160 HUF is a realistic purchase price for cherries
In the middle of this year a good cherry harvest is expected. The Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organisation and Product Board (FruitVeB) would consider a 150-160 HUF purchase price as realistic – Csizmadia György, vice president of the organization told M1 news channel on Wednesday.
The vice president said that the 80 thousand tons Hungarian sour cherry harvest gives nearly 30 percent of the European crop. The extra quality glass cherries (preserved sour cherry) are made from the cherries. This market has been dominated by Hungary with 50-60 percent. (MTI)
