Temu signs agreement with IACC – joint action against counterfeiting
Temu, a global online marketplace, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) to deepen cooperation on intellectual property protection and expand efforts to combat online counterfeiting.
The MoU was signed last week at the IACC 2025 conference in San Diego. As part of the collaboration, Temu has joined the IACC’s newly established Marketplace Advisory Council (MAC) as a founding member. The MAC is a cross-industry forum of leading online marketplaces, payment providers and global brands that aims to set new standards for collaboration in the fight against counterfeit goods.
“We are delighted to welcome Temu as a founding member of the Marketplace Advisory Council and a key partner in our joint fight against counterfeiting,” said Bob Barchiesi, President of the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition. “This MoU represents a real step forward in our collaboration, based on transparency, accountability and a shared commitment to consumer protection. The MAC, established by the IACC, aims to achieve tangible and lasting results through collaboration between stakeholders – and Temu’s participation reinforces this vision.”
The MAC provides a collaborative platform where e-commerce platforms, payment providers and brand owners can work together, share experiences and build stronger partnerships to address one of the most pressing challenges in the digital economy – the proliferation of counterfeit goods online.
“Our joining the coalition also demonstrates Temu’s commitment to building a trustworthy online marketplace,”
a Temu spokesperson said. “We look forward to working with other industry leaders to effectively and collectively combat the online sale of illegal goods.”
