The processing sales price of dairy products has stagnated or decreased

The producer price of raw milk, expressed in national currency, rose by 15 percent in the USA and 1 percent in the European Union in May 2024, while it decreased by 5 percent in New Zealand compared to a year earlier.

According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 164.01/kilogram in June 2024. In addition to the deterioration of the fat content by 0.08 percentage points, the protein content by 0.05 percentage points and the stagnation of the base price, the average price of raw milk did not change significantly in June 2024 compared to May 2024 and exceeded the average price of the same month of the previous year by 1 percent. According to the data of AKI PÁIR, in June 2024, compared to the previous month, the selling price of boxed UHT milk with 2.8 percent fat content, sour cream and added butter did not change, while boxed UHT milk with 1.5 percent fat content (-1 percent) , the processing sales price of Trappist cheese (–2 percent) and fruit yogurt (–4 percent) decreased. According to KSH data, the consumer price of fruit yogurt and Trappist cheese increased (+1 percent each), pasteurized ESL milk with a 1.5 percent fat content stagnated, while boxed UHT milk with a 2.8 percent fat content, sour cream with a 20 percent fat content and the consumer price of added butter (-1 percent respectively), pasteurized ESL milk with 2.8 percent fat (-2 percent), and sour cream with 12 percent fat (-3 percent) decreased in the same comparison.
