The processing sales price of dairy products increased by 2 to 6 percent
According to data from AKI PÁIR, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 161.98/kilogram in December 2023.
In addition to a 0.07 percentage point improvement in fat content, a 0.03 percentage point improvement in protein content and a 1 percent increase in the base price, the average price of raw milk rose by 2 percent in December 2023 compared to November 2023, and was 27 percent below the average price of the same month of the previous year.
The purchase of raw milk in December 2023 exceeded the previous month’s volume by 6 percent, and in December 2022 by 2 percent.
According to AKI PÁIR data, in December 2023 compared to the previous month, portioned butter (+6 percent), boxed UHT (preserved) milk with 1.5 percent fat (+5 percent), Trappist cheese, fruit yogurt and boxed UHT (preserved) milk with a fat content of 2.8 percent (+2 percent respectively). The processing sales price of canned fresh milk with a fat content of 8 percent (+3 percent respectively), sour cream and canned UHT (permanent) milk with a fat content of 2.8 percent (+2 percent respectively) increased. According to KSH data, the consumer price of ESL (long-fresh) milk with 1.5 percent fat increased (+2 percent), ESL (long-fresh) milk with 2.8 percent fat, boxed UHT (long-life) milk with 2.8 percent fat increased the price of milk and portioned butter stagnated, while the consumer price of Trappist block cheese and fruit yogurt (-3 percent respectively), as well as 20 percent fat sour cream (-4 percent) decreased in the same comparison.
