Egg prices are 26 percent higher than last year
According to AKI PÁIR data, the packing house price of caged table eggs (M+L) in Hungary was 67.02 forints/piece in the first twenty weeks of 2025, which exceeded the average price of the same period in 2024 by 26.7 percent.

The packing house price of M size-class boxed eggs increased by 23.5 percent to 69.37 forints/piece, and that of L size-class boxed eggs by 22.1 percent to 79.97 forints/piece. The packing house price of M trayed eggs increased by 29.8 percent to 61.43 forints/piece, and that of L trayed eggs by 30.7 percent to 66.37 forints/piece. The packinghouse price of table eggs (M+L) from deep-litter farming was 75.57 HUF/piece in the first twenty weeks of 2025, which is 24.3 percent higher than the average price for the same period in 2024.
