Industrial production improved after last year’s poor performance
In August 2010 the volume of industrial production increased by 17.6 percent from August last year. Production level in the first eight months of the year was 10 percent higher than in the same period of 2009. In comparison with the previous month, the industrial production index increased by 2.2 percent in August. Industrial export in the first eight months of 2010 produced a 16.5-percent upturn from the level in the same period of 2009. Domestic sales of the processing industry were 2.3 percent lower in the first eight months than in the same period of 2009.
