A quarter of a century of cooperative transformation and integration – Co-op Star celebrated its 25th anniversary
Co-op Star Ltd. marks its past 25 years as the quarter-century anniversary of the cooperative transformation and integration – highlighted by the company’s CEO, Dr. István Rédei, at the celebratory event held in the Royal Palace of Gödöllő’s Riding Hall. Co-op Star was the first joint-stock company formed in 1999 from the collaboration and joint work of multiple Cooperative Retail Chains. At the event celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary, Agriculture Minister István Nagy also spoke, describing the past 25 years as a successful Hungarian story, where, as one of the biggest franchise members of the Coop Economic Group, the company provides jobs for 1200 people and operates 117 stores across 92 domestic locations.

In his opening speech at the event, Dr. István Rédei, CEO of Co-op Star Ltd., recalled that the company was established in January 1999 during a market situation through the integration of the Dél-Pest County, Északpesti, and Jászsági Cooperative Retail Chains.
