The grapes had a different idea
This time the experts were wrong: The grape harvest had been smaller in both Hungary and other European markets, so no oversupply occurred – in spite of the spring forecasts. As regards grape quality, 2019 is a controversial year.
There was lots of rain until the beginning of the harvest, but those who could protect their grapes from fungal disease until the end of July could pick beautiful grapes. Máté Péter Varga, owner and managing director of Varga Winery told this year showed that a large quantity of grapes can only be produced in good quality year after year if the vineyards and the vines are in very good condition. //
