The Greener Future (AGF) is a non-profit organization focused on improving the environmental sustainability of live events, festivals and venues worldwide. AGF was founded in 2007 and has since provided the world’s first and most comprehensive sustainability standard for the live events sector. At this year’s awards ceremony, Sziget was awarded the “recommended” rating for its sustainability efforts. As stated, this indicates a well-managed, environmentally conscious event that goes beyond expectations and brings about positive change.
According to the rating, Sziget has shown a strong commitment to social inclusion and sustainability with initiatives such as XS Land, which draws attention to the everyday challenges of people with disabilities, and the Magic Mirror venue, which promotes mutual acceptance.
