The SZÉP card has also been integrated into bank cards
Today, we use the K&H SZÉP card – which is also uniquely available digitally – almost as well as our bank card. Not only in terms of the contactless payment method, but also in terms of frequency and amount spent. Based on the data, a card was used up to 21 times a day and the largest lump sum expenditure was nearly 3 million forints. However, the end of the possibility of buying food can be seen in monthly spending: in the first four months of the year, turnover decreased by 5 percent.
The cafeteria element, which started with paper-based meal vouchers, has now caught up with bank card payments, whether we look at the digital payment option, the frequency of use or the amount of spending. Based on data from the K&H SZÉP card, the largest spend of the past 12 months was more than HUF 2.8 million, while the maximum number of transactions within one day was 21 with the same card. Of course, normal usage shows much smaller numbers than this, but even based on these, it can be seen that cardholders use the benefit every day: on average, a card is used 1.2 times a day. The average daily expenditure is slightly more than an average lunch, but does not reach HUF 6,000. The popularity of food use is also shown by the fact that fast food and food delivery companies are high on the list of acceptance points where the card was used the most in recent months.
