SPAR transformed 14 Plus department stores into SPAR stores
The SPAR Hungary Ltd. took over the Plus’ network in the past year. In January 2009 the transformation af the Plus stores into SPAR stores has been started.
New SPAR sites are: Solt, Sümeg, Érd, Balassagyarmat, Szécsény, Lajosmizse, Kiskőrös and Kiskunhalas. Two shops were transformed in Szombathely, Zalaegerszeg and Salgótarján at the same time. Product choice expanded significantly. Instead of 1500 now 6000 kinds of products are waiting for the customers. SPAR increased the ratio of fresh products and the reduced priced own-trade products. SPAR Group, is one of Hungary’s most determinating national food and commercial chain. At the moment, SPAR operates 184 SPAR supermarkets, 30 INTERSPAR hypermarkets, 20 Kaiser’s supermarkets and 159 Plus stores in Hungary.
