SPAR acquires Ipercoop hypermarkets in Croatia
According to reports in the local press, the four stores, of which two are located in Zagreb and one each in Split and Osijek will keep the Ipercoop banner but will be managed by the Austrian grocery retailer.
SPAR (Austria) has acquired the
Ipercoop hypermarkets from Coop in Croatia. Buying will be jointly
carried out by both retailers, whereas a 50:50 joint venture between
Ipercoop and Spar (Austria) will manage the shopping centres adjacent
to the hypermarkets. Spar (Austria) entered Croatia in 2005 and has
so far opened seven hypermarkets and shopping centres.
