Shopper Park Plus Plc. acquired a retail park portfolio in Slovakia
Shopper Park Plus Plc. (SPP) has acquired a Tesco-centric retail park portfolio in Slovakia, thereby becoming the owner of four retail parks and shopping centers in Slovakia (Žilina, Nitra, Nagyszombat and Dunaszerdahely), SPP told MTI.
As part of the transaction, the properties were purchased from TESCO STORES SR by Shopping Malls SVK s.r.o., a Slovak company majority owned by SPP’s subsidiary, SKRADEVEL Holding Kft., from its own resources and a loan provided by UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia a.s.
The properties involved in the acquisition were previously owned and operated by the Tesco Group.
At the same time, it was indicated that Tesco will continue to be the largest tenant of the Slovak shopping centers through its local subsidiary, TESCO STORES SR a.s.
It was announced that one of the pillars of SPP’s long-term strategy is to build and operate one of the largest and most profitable retail park networks in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.
Shopper Park Plus Plc. utilizes food-focused shopping parks through leasing, owns and operates a portfolio of 22 Tesco-centric retail properties, consisting of 14 retail parks in Hungary, 4 in the Czech Republic and 4 in Slovakia. The company’s commercial units have a leasable area of 398,000 square meters and serve more than 600 tenants.
SPP shares are listed in the premium category of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE), with the lowest price in the past year being 10.8 and the highest being 12.9 euros.
