National Chief Veterinary Officer warns of the methods of preventing swine fever
Approximately 10 percent of the country’s pig population can be found in Békés county, so it is of the utmost importance that local farmers to adhere to the protection measures against African swine fever (ASF) – was said at a press conference before the farmers’ forum in Békéscsaba on Friday.
Bognár Lajos a National Chief Veterinary Officer, explained that in Hungary African swine fever (ASF) was detected in Heves and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties and measures had to be ordered, due to the fact that ASF virus was detected in dead wild boars. (MTI)
