The Saturn and Media Markt are no longer to “pull” Metro?
The Saturn and Media Markt chains were the pulling force companies of Metro Group, but in 2010 the two companies' earnings have stagnated, customers migrated to the Internet. The different price comparison sites have opened the competing channels to the customers – reports Handelsblatt.
For years, the two companies were the success story of German retail. Since their founding, since 1979, they had been continuously expanded, and the growth seemed unstoppable.
Last year, however, Media-Saturn sales stagnated in Germany, for the first time in its history – reports Világgazdaság Online, after Handelsblatt.
