Samsung Unveils New 9100 PRO SSD with PCIe 5.0 Support
Samsung 9100 PRO is the latest addition to the company’s consumer SSD lineup. The 9100 PRO features PCIe 5.0 interface to deliver advanced performance, efficient multitasking, and broad compatibility, enhancing the user experience on laptops, gaming PCs, and game consoles.
The 9100 PRO can provide an effective solution for laptop and desktop PC users who need faster access speeds for parallel processing tasks – especially important for creators working with AI-based content. Users who enjoy intense gaming can also enjoy the high performance and increased storage capacity of the SSD.
Enhanced Performance and Improved Energy Efficiency
The 9100 PRO supports PCIe 5.0 interface, which is twice as fast as the previous generation PCIe 4.0. The SSD can achieve sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 megabytes per second (MB/s) and write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s, representing a 99%[i] improvement in performance over its predecessor, the 990 PRO.
Random read and write speeds have also been significantly improved, with the devices capable of performing up to 2200K input/output operations (IOPS) and 2600K IOPS, respectively. Additionally, the 9100 PRO offers 49%[ii] improvement in energy efficiency over its predecessor, thanks to its advanced thermal design.
