Samsung unveils One UI 8 beta
Samsung is set to launch its One UI 8 software update, now available in beta in several countries. The company is ushering in a new era of software intelligence with the development of a multi-modal AI companion across Galaxy devices.
One UI is the latest version of Samsung’s integrated software platform designed to support users in their everyday tasks, increasing their efficiency and convenience. One UI 8, a collaboration between Samsung and Google, will debut on Samsung’s latest foldable devices this summer and will gradually be available on additional Galaxy devices, giving users an even richer and more personalized mobile experience with the latest Android-based operating system.
Samsung and Google have been sharing their design systems and real-time feedback to accelerate software development, with open communication. As a result, One UI 8 is one of the first user interfaces to support Android 16.
In addition to being the first software update to debut on the latest foldable devices, the launch of One UI 8 marks a new era for Samsung’s software development with updates to its UX (user experience) and AI. Those interested can now test the beta version, which is available in the US, UK, Korea and Germany on the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra.
