The Samsung 990 EVO Plus SSD offers great performance and speed with PCIe 4.0 support
As a leading manufacturer of memory technology, Samsung announces the release of the 990 EVO Plus, further expanding its range of SSD devices. With PCIe 4.0 support and the latest NAND technology, the 990 EVO Plus is an ideal solution for anyone who wants to increase the performance of their computer and is looking for a more energy-efficient solution. The device is optimized for gaming, business and creative activities.
“In our daily lives, we use more and more data because of the images and high-quality videos we share on social media
said Hangu Sohn, vice president of Samsung’s memory business.
The 990 EVO Plus is designed for laptop and desktop users who are looking for faster processing speed and expanded storage capacity”.
Increased performance and energy efficiency
The 990 EVO Plus is based on Samsung’s reliable, decades-old, revolutionary semiconductor technology. The device has a sequential read speed of up to 7250 megabytes per second (MB/s) and a write speed of up to 6300 megabytes per second (MB/s), which is up to 50% better performance compared to the previous 990 EVO . The performance increase is due to Samsung’s latest 8th generation V-NAND technology and 5 nanometer (nm) controller. The nickel-plated heat shield minimizes overheating, making it 73% more energy efficient than its predecessor.
The 4TB model offers top-notch random read and write speeds, capable of 1050K input/out operations (IOPS) per second and 1400K IOPS. The device competes with the performance of SSDs with DRAM without using DRAM cache. Thanks to this, it can be an optimal solution for high-performance games or artificial intelligence-based activities.
