Samsung’s 2025 OLED TVs Receive VDE “Real Black” Certification for Leading-Edge Picture Quality
Samsung’s 2025 OLED TV (S95F) has been certified as “Real Black” by Germany’s leading electrical engineering certification body, the Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE). By meeting the requirements for the “Real Black” certification, Samsung has proven that its OLED technology can display images with true blacks.
The certification confirms that the device’s OLED display can deliver sharp, glare-free images with blacks measured below 0.005 nits even in dark lighting conditions, and can also be color-accurate in brighter rooms, such as under direct sunlight. As a result, users can enjoy crystal-clear images with rich, deep blacks and realistic quality.
“The VDE Real Black certification demonstrates our commitment to taking OLED technology to the next level,” said Hoon Seol, Vice President of Samsung Germany and Head of the company’s CE Division. “We look forward to more users experiencing the cutting-edge picture quality that comes with the deepest blacks and color accuracy.” “Only displays that successfully pass our rigorous evaluation system can receive the VDE Real Black certification,” said Ansgar Hinz, President and CEO of VDE. Samsung’s OLED display delivers rich, color-accurate blacks under a wide range of lighting conditions, from a dark home theater to a bright living room. This achievement underscores Samsung’s technological excellence and commitment to delivering consistent picture quality across a wide range of spaces.”
