The Romanian government expects GDP growth of 2.9 percent this year
The Romanian government’s Economic Forecasting Committee has significantly reduced its forecast for this year, so it expects Romania’s gross domestic product (GDP) to expand by 2.9 percent instead of the previously expected 4.3 percent.

Analysts expect Romanian economy to grow close to 3 percent
Already in mid-February, a professional body under the Bucharest Cabinet cut its forecast from 4.6 percent to 4.3 percent. The current forecast has taken into account the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war and is in line with the slowdown projected by the international financial institutions, but the Romanian government is still the most optimistic of the latest forecasts to date.
