The Romanian retail sales expanded by 18.7 percent
In the first two months of this year, the Romanian retail sales volume rose 18.7 percent, compared to the same period of last year. According to the calendar-adjusted index the increase was 16.9 percent – the Romanian national statistical institute announced on Tuesday.
The volume of the sales of food products increased by 29.3 percent compared to last year, from non-food products 15.7 percent more was sold, while fuel consumption increased by 7.2 percent.
In February, retail sales volume increased by 21.8 percent compared to last February.
A growth was recorded in a monthly comparison. In February retail sales increased by 4.2 percent, compared to January. (MTI)
