Bence Rétvári pointed out that police officers visit the beaches several times a day, and school guards are also present at summer camps during vacations.
According to the State Secretary, it is important for the police to be there in all areas of life, “because this is how we can make Hungary one of the safest countries in Europe”. He added that since 2010, the number of crimes in Hungary has decreased by more than 60 percent, thanks to the fact that the police are doing increasingly effective work in the field of prevention and detection.
Bence Rétvári also drew attention to individual responsibility. He called it important that bathers use the safes located on beaches and waterfronts, and not just cover their valuables with a towel. He added: at home, the best protection against thieves sneaking in is to always close the doors and windows carefully.
