In spite of recession Briton shoppers will Spend More On Quality Food
According to MealSavers.co.uk survey among 4,380 peopel consumers aren’t going to let the recession reduce the quality of the food they eat.
People are cutting costs during the
recession, but 40% of shoppers in a new insight survey intend to
spend more money on quality food this year. And 76% anticipate
enjoying more home cooked meals in place of eating out at
restaurants. The widely held belief that food retailing and alcohol
production will thrive in this recession seem to be correct.
Other
main findings included: 67% of shoppers did not look for the cheapest
prices for fresh produce, as they would rather have less food of a
higher quality. The same proportion agreed that a good deal such as
Buy One Get One Free (BOGOF) or a 3 for 2 on quality food would sway
their buying decision. 12% had already started or were interested in
growing their own vegetables. Four out of five people were interested
in finding new ways to cook their favourite foods.
