Most attractive workplaces rewarded with the Randstad Award
This is the second time that the most attractive workplace is rewarded with the Randstad Award in Hungary. The award scheme is based on a global survey (conducted by the ICMA group) of the labour markets in 23 countries, which represent 75 percent of the world economy. In Hungary 7,000 potential employees participated in the study, which found that Mercedes is the most attractive workplace where 67.58 percent would like to work. From FMCG companies Nestlé scored the best so they walked away with the special award of the sector. More than 42 percent of the survey’s participants would like working in the FMCG sector. This sector attracts more women than men. FMCG companies are more popular in the north. Mr Baja added that what job seekers want is a good salary and a pleasant work environment, while companies are focusing on training programmes and career opportunities instead. Randstad Award also examined how we use social networking websites when looking for work: 49 percent use them in the 23 countries surveyed, but in Hungary this proportion was a stunning 75 percent. Another surprising result of the survey is that 23 percent of potential employees switched jobs in the last twelve months and 22 percent plan to search for a new job in the next twelve months. They want a higher salary, more benefits and better career opportunities. They are motivated to stay by being offered a work – life balance and flexible working time. People are also willing to stay if the management is good and they like their boss.
