The Ramsey restaurant chain's profit decreased by 87 percent
In 2008 the profit of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants have been decreased by 87 percent. The denominator star chef and his business partner father-in-law, supported the company with a total of 5 million from their own private equity.
The capital injection was necessary because the company's debt increased to 8 million pounds primarily because of VAT debts, tax arrears and due to the wages of the workers.
Problems started in August 2008, when because of the declining profits two restaurants had been closed, and the opening of several restaurants had to be postponed.
In last December a refinancing plan was adopted, so Ramsay's company can survive the crisis. Besides he closures of recent months, two new Ramsey restaurants had been opened in London and the star chef is still confident about the future – reports BBC News.
