More needs to be learnt in the managing of PET bottles
During the summer heat up to twice as many PET bottles are purchased. On an annual basis, the number of empty PET bottles are up to 1,4-1,6 billion, which is equivalent to a 55-60 thousand tons of waste.
According to the survey of Öko-Pannon; the population can hardly estimate how much PET-waste had been produced in the summer: in opinion of the seventy percent of the asked only 30 percent increase occures in the number of empty bottles. Despite that 82 percent of the asked stated that being involved in selective waste collection, only 18-20 percent of the PET bottles are collected selectively – reports napi.hu.
