Persil’s CSR campaign: the stain disappears, the help left a mark
Persil’s September CSR campaign was an outstanding success: thanks to the cooperation of customers and the brand, the total amount of support exceeded 5.2 million forints. This allows all three foundations to receive more than 1.7 million forints, thus helping to train guide dogs and implement animal-assisted therapy programs.
A simple decision, a huge impact: During the campaign, 25 forints was donated to charity for every Persil product purchased. In this way, customers could contribute to making the everyday lives of people with disabilities, children and the elderly easier and more fulfilling. Almost all major retail chains in the country participated in the promotion.
Dogs that change lives
Assistance dogs not only provide practical assistance, but also provide security, independence and emotional support to their owners. Whether it is blind guiding, movement development or stress relief, these animals become true companions who fundamentally transform the lives of those affected. The collected support amount was divided equally between three beneficiary foundations:
- Csiga-Biga Movement and Skills Development Foundation – Their qualified therapists and four-legged helpers develop the movement, communication and social skills of children with special educational needs or those who are developmentally delayed through playful activities. The presence of dogs is motivating and breaks down inhibitions, making development a joyful experience.
- Csodakutya Animal-Assisted Therapy Non-Profit Foundation – They help children, adults and the elderly with their programs. Whether it’s cheering up residents of nursing homes, relieving stress at school or rehabilitating people with disabilities.
- Baráthegyi Guide and Assistance Dog School Foundation – Their main mission is to help the visually impaired live independently with professionally trained guide dogs. Every dog donated, as a loyal companion, not only enables safe transportation, but also contributes to its owner living a fuller life.

Long-term social responsibility
Persil’s CSR commitment is manifested in numerous initiatives year after year.
The brand has drawn attention to the difficulties of those living in poverty in its “Persil for Children” program and has provided assistance to thousands of affected Hungarian families with the involvement of civil organizations: In line with the mission #cleanclothesforeveryone, in 2022 and 2023, Persil took action against hygiene poverty together with the New Start Foundation to make clean clothes accessible to as many children as possible. As part of this, they delivered enough detergent for about 500,000 kilograms of clean clothes to families living in the poorest settlements every year: more than 5,000 households received product donations, 40 disadvantaged children received scholarships, and 176 Sure Start Children’s Homes received enough Persil gel for half a year. The cooperation continued in 2024, when the “Pure Joy, Equal Opportunities” campaign focused on the joy of sport: sports clubs in four disadvantaged settlements received new sports equipment, and more than 1,200 families received enough detergent for three months.
Persil’s commitment to communities is also strengthened by the 16-year-old campaign organized jointly with the Silan brand, which supports the work of clown doctors. Over the years, donations worth nearly 50 million forints have been collected through the consumer promotion running in Spar stores in the fall, contributing to bringing smiles to the faces of children in hospital.
