PepsiCo becomes sole owner of Sabra and Obela
PepsiCo announced it will acquire the remaining 50% stake in Sabra and Obela, becoming the sole owner of both companies. Sabra operates in the US and Canada, generating nearly $400 million in annual retail sales as a leading hummus brand, while Obela operates in Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico.
This acquisition aligns with PepsiCo’s strategy to expand its food portfolio and meet the growing demand for nutritious and convenient products, particularly in the fresh dips category. Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo Foods North America, highlighted the importance of offering simple, healthy foods like refrigerated dips and spreads.
