Penny-Market raises wages by 17 percent
Penny-Market Kft. will raise the wages of its employees by an average of 17 percent with effect from April 1, the retail chain told MTI on Monday.
In addition to the salary, the company’s employees receive a cafeteria allowance on the SZÉP card, a performance bonus and an 86 percent contribution to the price of local public transport passes. The company pays HUF 30 per kilometer as compensation for those who go to work with their own vehicles, in accordance with the effective government decree, they explained.
Eszter Kazatsay, Penny’s head of communications in Hungary, told MTI that the company is spending HUF 3.6 billion on the wage adjustment.
Penny-Market’s most important goal this year is to complete the modernization of the business premises that began at the end of 2020, for which 87 million euros (about 33 billion forints) have been spent so far, and another 35 million euros will be spent in 2023. So far, 223 of the company’s 228 units in Hungary have been renovated, he added.
